  1. Ronnie Lott has been voted to the Pro Bowl
  2. 10 times, the first four times as a cornerback
  3. and the next six as a safety. Both positions 
  4. are parts of a teamΓÇÖs defensive backfield, 
  5. which is made up of two cornerbacks, a free
  6. safety, and a strong safety. The cornerbacks
  7. cover the oppositionΓÇÖs two main wide 
  8. receivers. The free safety is a teamΓÇÖs "center
  9. fielder." He lines up behind the rest of the
  10. defense, free to cover a third receiver or help
  11. the cornerbacks. His job is to go to where he
  12. thinks the ball will be going. The strong 
  13. safety lines up on the strong side of the field
  14. (the side that the tight end lines up on). He
  15. sometimes covers the tight end, sometimes
  16. covers wide receivers, and sometimes 
  17. moves up to help stop the running game.
